CANADA POST STRIKE UPDATE (Emailed out Tuesday May 20th):

As you may already know, we were notified on May 19th that Canada Post workers are going back on strike this week on Friday, May 23rd. Due to the slower processing times that we have noticed lately with CP, we decided yesterday on holding off shipping the final batch of Book Club orders we were going to ship as we couldn’t guarantee they would be processed through in time before all services were haulted.

In our dream world, we would like to ship with Canada Post for a multitude of reasons. Not only are they the most reliable, but they also deliver to the most amount of places without limitations (rural addresses, PO Boxes, etc). Thanks to our commercial contract with Canada Post, they are by far the most economical shipping option for us and for customers to use.

We are currently investigating shipping alternatives, but ask that you give us a bit of time to see what the cheapest and safest options are. We have ~300 orders between Book Club and monthly clubs left to ship and we need to manually go through each order to see what possibilities there are.

We will be sending out another update by early next week with what those options will be. Please note, that all alternative carriers are more expensive than Canada Post. Because of this, there *may* be extra cost involved if you want your order to be shipped with an alternative carrier. With that being said, if you are not in a rush for your yarn and are okay with us holding your order, we are very happy to do that.

I appreciate your patience and understanding during this unusual circumstance out of our control. As I hope you can understand, as of right now we are unable to provide any concrete guarantees for delivery dates. Alternative carriers are going to be slammed because of this strike, meaning processing times will most likely be even slower than usual for them. Hopefully, Canada Post and its union will be able to find a solution soon. If you want updates on how the strike is unfolding, you can follow along via the CUPW website here. *All colourways have been dyed and are ready to ship, but we are holding off shipping as we investigate alternatives due to the Canada Post Strike.
