Working with hand-dyed yarn
Because each skein is dyed by hand, I recommend alternating skeins while knitting so that the color is as even as possible throughout your project. I personally like to use the helical method, and you can see a tutorial for it on Instagram here.
All skeins are carefully dyed with acid dye, washed, and rinsed, however, some bleeding may still occur. This is normal.
Each skein is unique and therefore colors may vary slightly from one to the next. Due to differences between monitors and screens, actual colors may also vary slightly from what is shown. We try our best to make our photos as accurate as possible but please be mindful of this.
We always recommend handwashing all knit garments in lukewarm water and then laying flat to dry on blocking mats or a clean towel. If you do decide to wash your garment in a washing machine, please keep in mind that although the yarn is superwash, it should still always be laid flat to dry. Non-superwash fibres can not be washed in the washing machine.
pre-order structure
We operate largely around a pre-order structure where the product is made after purchase. This allows us to create products based on demand, lowering our waste and making sure everyone can get their hands on what they want. Once a collection is closed, we will announce a finalized estimated turnaround time. Please note, all turnaround times given are estimates, meaning that sometimes, things change depending on unexpected circumstances. We will do our best to keep you updated via Instagram and our order updates page should that happen. As we are a very small team of just two people, this is the easiest way for us to update everyone all at once and continue to work on execute our pre-orders. Our turnaround times are given to show when to expect products to begin shipping, not when your order will be in your hands. To understand shipping estimated time, please see below.
SHIPPING
We are a tiny team here, but we try and get the yarn out as quickly as we can. In-stock yarn should ship or be ready for pickup within 5-10 business days of when your order was placed unless otherwise specified in the listing. For pre-orders, please check the listing for the estimated turnaround time or head to our order updates page.
All of our yarn is shipped via Canada Post. We have scheduled pickup dates on Fridays, so if you receive tracking before then please note movement may not be seen until the next scheduled pickup.

ESTIMATED SHIPPING TIMES ARE (please note that during holiday seasons, these estimates may be longer):
Canada: 2-5 business days
USA: 4-12 Business days
International: 6-24 Business days
For all USA orders: Please note that you will be subject to a 10% tax regardless of state due to the tariffs the USA government has imposed on all international imports. This allows us to ship your orders DPP (duties prepaid) as is required by Canada Post and makes it so there are no additional fees for your yarn upon arrival.
For all international orders: Please note that you may be required to pay customs fees or tariffs upon receipt of your order. I am not responsible for and cannot do anything regarding customs fees if you are outside of Canada.
Once orders have been shipped, they become your responsibility, the customer. We are not responsible for lost packages, but I will do my best to help answer questions about your shipment. However, if a package is lost, Canada Post should be contacted directly to resolve the issue.
Returns
Please let me know right away if for some reason you are unhappy with your purchase, if it has been damaged in any way, or if you received the wrong item(s). We will do our best to resolve the issue. In all other instances, sales are final. Please know that I make sure to portray the yarn as accurately as possible, but computer monitors may slightly affect what you see on your screen. Please take your time in choosing your yarn, and you can find more information about each base here. If the yarn has been caked or unwound, a refund will not be given. The buyer is responsible for shipping costs, as shipping charges are non-refundable.
Why Usd if you’re based in Canada?
The short answer: our website only allows us to use one currency, so we decided on USD.
The long answer:
The big reason is that the USA makes up almost 90% of our customer base and Americans aren’t accustomed to exchanging currency the same way Canadians are. The other crucial reason is all of our suppliers, both in the UK and USA, charge us in USD. Most Canadian banks allow you to open USD accounts, meaning we can do all of our purchasing and accounting in USD. By doing that, we can reduce the amount of banking fees we pay on conversion rates every time we purchase goods. If we charged in CAD, everything would most likely need to be $2-3 cad more expensive per skein to account for those banking fees and the ever fluctuating exchange rate. Like most businesses, our prices are based on the cost of goods and supplies it takes to create the product. By staying within the same currency as our suppliers and banking in that currency it means our cost of goods stay the same no matter where the exchange rate is at.
To try and counterbalance that for our Canadian customers, we offer flat rate shipping across Canada that is underpriced and we almost always lose money on, for example an order going to Ontario would have cost us $26 cad to send, whereas our flat rate we charged was only $10 usd/$14 cad.
We also allow the option to pay in PayPal so that people can still have their cards charged in CAD via PayPal. I always recommend checking out with PayPal as it will show you the exchange rate before you confirm your order.
Obviously it’s not perfect, in my dream world we’d be able to charge in multiple currencies the way you can on other website platforms like Shopify but there are other major benefits to the one we chose like built in subscription tools for clubs and integration with ShipStation which allows us to get cheaper shipping rates for customers than the ones other platforms provide. From my personal experience shopping on other dyers websites that do allow for multiple currencies, those skeins end up costing more if I order them in CAD then they do if I pay for them in USD because Shopify uses its own exchange rate and then rounds up to the nearest dollar.
Exchanges
At this time we do not offer exchanges. Please refer to the Returns section for more information about your purchase.
Do you offer wholesale?
Yes! Please send us a message via the Contact Us page on our website and we will get back to you as soon as possible about setting up a wholesale order. Wholesale orders are available for local yarn shops as well as Knit-A-Longs (KALs) that you are interested in hosting.
